Definition

Gluteal tendinopathy

Gluteal tendinopathy is a condition in which the tendons in the gluteal region, particularly the tendons of the gluteus medius and gluteus minimus muscles, are damaged or irritated. This can lead to pain in the buttock and hip area and restrict mobility. Tendinopathy can be caused by overloading, injury or age-related wear and tear. It also often occurs because the muscles have too much tension and thus exert constant tension on the tendons. Symptoms include pain when walking, standing or lying on the affected side as well as limited hip mobility.

Treatment

How Calopad helps with Gluteal tendinopathy

The Calopad can promote blood circulation by delivering targeted heat to the tense area. The body reacts to the deep heat by dilating the blood vessels, which leads to increased blood flow. More blood also means more oxygen and nutrients, which reach the treated areas and thus promote regeneration. At the same time, waste products produced during inflammation are better broken down. When a muscle is well supplied with blood, it relaxes more easily and is less prone to tension, which can minimize the pull on the tendon.

Targeted physiotherapy and mobility & strength training are helpful in maintaining joint mobility and strengthening muscles. This is why the Calopad Care Abo combines passive heat treatment with active therapies, such as muscle building, to ensure comprehensive treatment.
