Bechterew's disease
Bechterew`s diseas is also known as ankylosing spondylitis and means "stiffening inflammation of the spine". It is a chronic inflammatory disease that primarily leads to pain and stiffness in the spine. As the disease progresses, it can lead to curvature of the spine, particularly in the form of kyphosis of the thoracic spine, i.e. a bent forward posture. This is a rheumatic disease for which the exact cause is not known, although genetic factors play a role.
How Calopad helps with Bechterew's disease
The application of deep heat leads to an expansion of the blood vessels in the body, which results in increased blood flow and thus brings more oxygen and nutrients to the treated areas. This not only improves the removal of waste products, but also supports the relaxation of the surrounding muscles. In addition, deep heat stimulates the skin's thermoreceptors, which can influence the sensation of pain by sending fewer pain signals to the brain. Although this cannot stop the disease, it can alleviate life-limiting symptoms.
Regular exercise and targeted back exercises to strengthen the muscles also help to combat back pain. Relaxation techniques such as yoga and meditation, physiotherapy treatments and occasional massages can also provide relief. The most important thing, however, is to remain active at all times.
