Definition

Tendinosis Calcarea

Tendinosis calcarea, also known as calcific shoulder, is a disease in which calcium deposits form in the tendon of the shoulder. It typically manifests itself as pain in the shoulder, which can often radiate into the upper arm or neck. Another common symptom is limited mobility of the shoulder joint, making it difficult to lift the arm or rotate the shoulder. Many sufferers also experience stiffness in the shoulder. The deposits in the tendon and the resulting inflammation can affect the surrounding muscles and lead to tension. This muscle tension can cause additional pain and discomfort and further restrict the mobility of the shoulder joint.

Treatment

How Calopad helps with tendinosis calcarea

The Calopad can promote blood circulation in the affected joint area through the application of heat, which results in increased blood flow and thus brings more oxygen and nutrients to the treated areas. This not only improves the removal of waste products, but also helps to relax the surrounding muscles. Heat applications relieve pain and muscle tension, but should not be used for acute inflammation. However, to provide relief, the Calopad can be applied to the surrounding muscles once the acute inflammatory phase has subsided.

However, in order not only to alleviate symptoms but also to tackle the causes, the Calopad Care Abo combines passive heat treatment with active therapies, such as muscle building, to ensure comprehensive treatment.
