Calopad® on tour: Laura Lalut uses deep heat for more comfort in motorcycling
Spring is here and it's time to get outside again. Motorcyclist Laura Lalut is also looking forward to this time of year, because for her it means not only the start of the season but also more business in her own shop in Lucerne. Laura is the founder of ReBelle Motowear - the shop for the Swiss female biker scene. With her collection, she equips female bikers with motorbike clothing that has been developed and designed by women for women and uses customisation to ensure that every female biker finds the equipment that suits her body and style.
At the new location of her shop, she came into contact with the effects of deep heat as a neighbour of Calopad and was immediately impressed. Today, Laura offers the Calopad® as a reseller in her own shop. In this interview, she shares her personal experiences with the Calopad® and how it helps her with chronic complaints and for regeneration after a long motorbike tour.
Laura, can you describe your shop, ReBelle Motowear, and its special features?
ReBelle Motowear is the first and unique shop in Switzerland that only offers motorbike clothing for women. This is primarily motorbike clothing that is suitable for everyday use, in which you can comfortably meet up with friends in cafés or wear to work without having to change.
How do you personally balance comfort and safety when it comes to your motorbike riding gear?
That's actually my main criteria for all the motorbike gear I stock in the shop. Some of the equipment not only looks like everyday clothing, but also feels like it. The materials are getting better and better and offer more comfort without neglecting protection. I sometimes wear my motorbike trousers or jackets even when I'm not on the bike.
How do you recover after a long motorbike trip?
Preferably cosy at home on the sofa with some good snacks and drinks.
Are there any areas of your body that are more prone to pain due to your posture when riding a motorbike?
Definitely! Especially after a long ride, I particularly feel my weak point, my lower back, but the whole shoulder area is also under a lot of strain.
How do you deal with this pain or tension?
Sufficient exercise and, above all, muscle building help me enormously when riding a motorbike.I've recently become a total fan of the Calopad® deep heat device and use it whenever possible when I notice that tension is building up.
How does the Calopad® improve safety or comfort when riding a motorbike?
As the season is only just starting again, I have not yet been able to test the Calopad® in conjunction with the motorbike myself. But I can well imagine that the Calopad® can bring enormous added value, especially on long journeys. If your shoulder or back muscles are tense from riding, this also affects your riding style. The more relaxed you are on the motorbike, the better and safer you ride, of course.
What do you particularly like about the Calopad®?
It's small, handy and you can recharge it again and again. The adhesive plaster that you use to attach the device to your skin lasts an extremely long time. This means you don't have to keep buying new ones. If I imagine that I would need as many heat plasters as I use the Calopad®, I could have afforded at least two Calopads® in that time!
Who would you recommend the Calopad to and why?
I can actually recommend the Calopad® to anyone - after all, we all suffer from tension or pain from time to time.
Would you recommend other motorbike shops to include the Calopad® in their range? Why?
Definitely! Almost every motorcyclist is familiar with tension after a long tour. It's handy to be able to quickly apply the Calopad® to the painful area and enjoy the soothing warmth. Of course, it always helps if you test the products in your range yourself. This allows you to share your personal story with potential customers and give them practical tips for travelling or at home.
